Aline Ball
I’m a fully qualified integrative psychotherapist working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Helping people find the right, creative way through their own difficulties isn’t just my job, it’s a genuine privilege.
My work in this field began in 1998, when I started as a psychologist in a school and in private practice in Brazil. After moving to the UK, I worked as a qualified teacher for several years, which gave me deep, first-hand experience of young people’s lives at school. I went on to work as a counsellor with children and adolescents in schools, supporting them through bullying, panic attacks, anxiety, self-harm, depression, and difficulties related to ADHD and autism. In private practice, I work with children, adolescents and adults facing low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, bereavement, and trauma.
My private practice is based in a purpose-built, private room in a leafy area of Epsom, with convenient parking — a calm, secluded space designed to help you feel safe and settled. I also offer fully equipped online sessions for anyone who prefers or can’t easily attend in person.
Every course of therapy starts with a free 20-minute initial consultation;n a no-pressure chance to talk through what’s bringing you to therapy and check we’re a good fit before committing to anything.
(Please note: the current practice space is not wheelchair accessible. Online sessions are available as an alternative.)

The iris flower symbolises faith, renewal, and hope. During times of pain, whether physical or emotional, maintaining hope for brighter days ahead fosters resilience and strength.
In Greek mythology, Iris plays a significant role as the messenger of the gods in the epic tale of the Iliad. The name Iris itself translates to “the one who carries messages through words,” mirroring the essence of psychotherapy and counselling.
Moreover, the iris, as the colourful part of our eyes, reminds us of the rich diversity of humanity, including various skin tones, accents, languages, and aspirations. At Iris Psychotherapy, we embrace individuals from all walks of life, providing a welcoming space for healing and growth.
