How it works

Different Approaches, One Focus: You

Not sure what all the therapy jargon means? Don’t worry. Here’s a simple guide to how I work and how we can find the right approach for you.

As a trained Integrative Psychotherapist, I believe therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. I draw on different therapeutic approaches, adapting our work to your individual needs, experiences and goals. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and we can find what works best for you, at your own pace.

How I Work

EMDR Therapy — Working Through Trauma

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) helps process traumatic experiences and distressing memories, reducing their emotional impact. It can be particularly helpful for PTSD, trauma and difficulties linked to painful past experiences, without needing to describe every detail.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) -Informed Therapy — Understanding Yourself

Ever feel like one part of you wants to move forward while another holds you back? IFS helps us understand these different parts of ourselves with kindness and curiosity, particularly when working with trauma, self-criticism and inner conflict.

CBT — Making Practical Changes

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that contribute to anxiety, low mood, stress and sleep difficulties. It offers practical tools you can continue using beyond therapy.

Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) — Building on Your Strengths

Rather than focusing only on problems, SFT helps you recognise your strengths, explore possibilities and take manageable steps towards the changes you’d like to see.

Creative & Experiential Therapy — Beyond Words

Sometimes feelings are difficult to put into words, whatever our age. I incorporate creative approaches such as sand tray work, therapeutic cards, toys and figures, painting and drawing with both children and adults.

I may also use Gestalt-inspired chair work, a technique that helps explore conflicting feelings, relationships or different sides of ourselves.

There’s no pressure to be artistic or creative. These are simply additional ways of exploring and understanding your experiences, when they feel right for you.

Who I Help

Children & Teenagers

With a Master’s in Child Psychology and years of experience as a qualified teacher and school counsellor, I support children and young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, self-harm, bullying, panic attacks, ADHD and autism-related challenges, and the everyday pressures of growing up.

My approach is adapted to each child’s age and needs, often incorporating play, creativity and other ways of expressing feelings beyond words.

Adults

I offer a warm, supportive space to explore anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties and life’s challenges.

Whether you’re struggling with something happening now or experiences from the past, we can work together towards greater understanding, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Parents & Carers

Parenting can be challenging, particularly when your child is struggling. I offer practical guidance and emotional support to help you better understand your child’s needs, strengthen your connection and navigate difficult situations — even if your child isn’t attending therapy.

Finding What Works for You

Together, we’ll explore what you need, what feels comfortable and which approaches might help. Most importantly, therapy is a collaborative process where you are always at the centre of our work.
